SoCal Challengers 2015 Cruise Through Angeles National Forest

angeles cruise pictureIt was a beautiful Sunday morning for a SoCal Challengers cruise in sunny California.  Our SoCal Challengers family met at Doug's house and hung out. We welcomed in our newest members: Jose, Ricky, Frank and his wife Brenda. Frank and Brenda were kind enough to bring an awesome key chain for us all.  After the cruise, we gathered for food at Los Gringos Locos restaurant.  We were we stuffed.  Our belly's and were full even before the food came!  Chris tackled the burrito challenge and won! You can find his picture on the wall at the restaurant.

SoCal Challengers at Spring Festival of LX's 2015

Spring has sprung and so has the Spring Festival of LX's 10 (#SF10).  As usual SoCal Challengers made a strong showing at the event.  At last count, we had over 80 cars in attendance from our club alone.   Joining us from other clubs were C-4 and Space City LX out ot Texas.   Pretty sure it's safe to say that everyone had a good time.  If you missed it this year, there is always next.  Mark your calender.

Keeping with our club tradition for Spring Festival, we had a new shirt design this year.  This year, member Eric Win designed our shirts.  Once again Jim Deiss came through as merchandiser, handling the entire order from concept through production.  Member Rose Lucero was able to get green, white, and grey SoCal Challengers stickers, which made a lot of members happy.  Our club secretary, Greg Smith, has the thankless job of keeping track of our funds, but handles it with skill. Huge thanks to all who made the SoCal Challengers Gear sales at the festival possible.  Remember, all proceeds from sales of our merchandise go to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

Our new members are Jeff and Tammy Miller, Tyler Chang, Blake Foshie, Mark Welsh, John Dillendel, Chris Vine, Chris Elledge, Jesse Avila and David Millhouse.  Welcome all.

av1 ffd29SoCal Challengers hosted a cruise through the beautiful Angeles National Forest which ended at member Doug Bennett's house where the club enjoyed a great pot luck meal and fellowship. It was a great time and a very relaxing day for all. We had a great turnout of around 25 people with chili, hamburgers, plenty of sides and desserts. Great time, great people, beautiful cars.

SoCal Challengers Dinner for Israel Magana

israel dinnerOn August 2nd 2014, SoCal Challengers held a dinner at Tequila Jack's in Downtown Long Beach to recognize Israel Magana for his long time commitment to the club. Israel Magana is one of the reasons this club has thrived over the years.  His commitment to the club has been second to none. If you know Israel, you know him to be the first person to get up and welcome you.  Due to Israel's out going personality and his passion for being in SoCal Challengers, more times than not, he is the reason that a person has joined Socal Challengers.

In recent events, Israel has had to sell his prized Challenger which was a surprise to most of us. Do you think this has kept him away from the club? No way! Israel still finds time to make it to most events and is in constant communication with all of us. This is exactly why over 35 people came to Israel's dinner, and why countless others sent messages of support, and thanks to, him. Thank you Israel for being a great friend to all of us, everyone in SoCal Challengers appreciates you and are thankful to call you our friend.
