SoCal Challengers gets Best Club Participation at Villa Park High Car Show

Our 4th year helping the students of Villa Park High!

On Saturday, May 12th, 2012 SoCal Challengers (SCC) was awarded a plaque for Best Club Participation at the Villa Park High School Car Show.

James took 3rd place in the Mopar class. 1st place went to our friend Laura Fox Buchan and her 1970 Challenger T/A.  Such a beautiful car. Congratulations!

This event benefits the school music program and is responsible for earning over 30% of the money needed to run the program during the year. SoCal Challengers was proud to contribute to such a worthy cause!

SoCal Challengers Members Break Records!

Mojave Mile May 5th, and 6th, 2012...SoCal Challengers is proud to announce that we now hold 4 records at the Mojave Mile, Dave McIntosh with 151.5 mph for the 5.7 N/A class, Karl Schello (first modern Mopar to go over 200 mph in a standing mile) for the LC 6.1 Power Adder and the LC stroker Power Adder class, and today Chris Sawyer set the record for the stock 392 with 161.3 mph!

There is more racing tomorrow so we will see how things end up, but for now this is where we are at. This just goes to show that we not only know how to exhibit our cars but we also know how to race them as well. Congrats to our members. **UPDATE** On Sunday May 6th 2012 Dave ran 153.1 mph, beating his own record from the day before!! Way to go Dave!
